Bill Smithers, Owner Bill has worked in the restaurant industry ever since graduating from the University of Utah. His experience with dining spans the gamut, from a server for the Gastronomy group to owner of Sugarhouse Barbeque, ever since it opened its doors in 1996. Bill’s experience in the business gives him a unique understanding of the inner workings at every level of the restaurant environment; but more importantly, his experience has given him a greater understanding of the value of good employees and a great product. He cherishes the family atmosphere at Sugarhouse Barbeque and strives to create an environment of respect—for customers, for employees, and for food.

Brooke Yardley Stewart, Owner/General Manager Brooke has worked at Sugarhouse Barbeque since 1997, and has worked her way up from kitchen help to general manager. She has had the opportunity to work in each and every position in the restaurant, and her experience enables her to see things not only from a managerial point of view but also from an employee perspective. She also brings her organized nature and her ability to work well under pressure to the Sugarhouse Barbeque team.

Jeffrey Paul Berg, Manager/Marketing Director/Catering Director Jeff has been in the restaurant industry for more than 17 years and has held a variety of positions, including managing The Globe Café in downtown Salt Lake City and working as the general manager at The Garden Cafe at The Grand America Hotel. It was that experience that taught him about five-star hospitality and service, and he currently uses his vast knowledge of—and passion for—the business to enhance the dining experiences of the guests at Sugarhouse Barbeque.
